Black sugar rich white bread / Fruits bread

I used milk, butter, and black sugar in this white bread.

食パンに牛乳、バター、黒砂糖を入れて焼いた。 

I added raisins, dried cranberries, and homemade orange peels in the same dough to make fruits bread.
同じパン生地にレーズン、ドライクランベリー、とオレンジピールを混ぜてフルーツパンを焼いた。

We went to visit our friends last night. She is from Thailand and made us a wonderful Thai meal. They were very very delicious! 

昨日夕方に友達家族の家へ行った。奥さんはタイの人で、たくさんのタイ料理をご馳走してくれた。全部すっごいおいしかった！！

I baked banana bread the other day. I brought one of them to friends' place as dessert.

The song I've been singing

After the tsunami and earthquake in Japan, somehow I have been singing this song ( Jidai by Miyuki Nakajima).
I found YouTube video that shows how beautiful one of the beach in Fukushima is.
I really hope people in Fukushima will be able to see this scenery again, and I would love to see it someday.

YouTubeで検索してからすぐに目に入ったのがこのビデオ。よく読んでみると福島県の波立海岸って書いてある。このきれいな景色を福島の人たちがまた見れる事を願います。私もいつか見てみたい。

A birthday card for my friend
I used some Martha Stewart punches, my hand-carved monarch butterfly stamp which I colored with watercolor pencil crayons, and some rhinestone stickers.

I scan and printed out my chigiri-e (paper torn drawing/ image) I made for February calendar to make this thank you card.

Charity Event : Japan earthquake and tsunami relief / massage and healing

We are having fundraising this Thursday at  View Royal Preschool between
10 : 00 am and 2 : 45 pm.


School location is 279 Island Highway 


We are all certified practitioners of Reiki, Quantum-Touch, Head and Chair Massage, Thai and Chinese Massage 


We will offer 30 minutes massage or healing for $30.00 cashand all proceeds go to Canadian Res Cross. 

This event is organized by staff of View Royal Preschool. Thanks to View Royal Preschool, we will be able to make this event happens.

今週の木曜日に支援イベントを行います。場所は View Royal Preschoolで、時間は午前１０時から午後２時４５分までです。


学校の住所は、279 Island Highway


友達と私はそれぞれレイキ、クウォンタムタッチ、ヘッド＆チェアマッサージ、そして、タイ、中国マッサージなどの資格を持っています。


マッサージまたはヒーリングは、３０分３０ドル現金で提供させていただき、集まった全額はカナダ赤十字へ送られます。


今回のイベントは学校のスタッフのみなさんにより提案していただき、そして運営され、この度実行することができました。このイベントにたくさんの方が来て、マッサージやヒーリングを楽しんでもらえたらなぁ、と思います！

24 hour Pray for Japan event finished

We displayed the entrance and the prayer room with flower arrangements which were donated by the local florist. I drew the hands holding heart poster. There is light in the heart.

今回のイベントで入り口とお祈りの部屋に生花を飾りました。これらのお花は地元のお花屋さんが寄付してくださいました。私は手で光の入ったハートを掲げてるポスターを書きました。

The local screen print T shirt shop made this. One of our group members bought several shirts and donated to us.

地元スクリーンプリントのTシャツ屋さんが作ったシャツ。私たちメンバーの一人が数枚私たちに買ってくれました。


24 hour pray for Japan went pretty well considering lack of time of preparation and the last minute advertisement such as posters, face book, used victoria ad, and this and other blogs etc. We raised almost 900 dollars thanks to people's generosity. Many people stayed and prayed for Japan. We were all very grateful to the people who came by, as well as Oshio college who lent us the place, the local florist, and all the people who supported us. Thank you very very much!

There were several charity events went on this weekend to support Japan.
Our upcoming event is massage and healing event on Thursday. I will update the information next time.

２４時間祈りの会は短時間で企画し、宣伝したにもかかわらず、上手く行ったと思います。参加してくださったみなさまのおかげで寄付金は約９００ドルも支援していただきました。
たくさんの方がお祈りしてくれました。私たちは、このイベントに参加くださった方々、場所提供してくれたオシオカレッジ、お花屋さん、そしてこのイベントを成功させるために協力してくれた全ての人たちにとても感謝しています。本当にありがとうございました！

今週末はこのように各地で日本への支援チャリティーイベントがありました。
私たちの次回のイベントは、マッサージとヒーリングが木曜日にあります。

Many residents in Japan lost their electricity due to earthquake and many east coast areas of Japan are losing electricity temporary to help Tohoku to regain their electricity. This is the heart candle light that symbolizes how sincerely Japanese people care for each other even though under the inconvenient circumstance they have to face right now.  

たくさんの日本の人たちが地震のため停電になり困っています。関東では計画停電が行われ東北へ電気の供給が回るようにしています。このろうそくのハートの炎は、こんな不便な状態でも助け合っている日本のみんなの心を表す意味で作りました。

Homemade vegetable gyoza

For the gyoza wrapper, I mixed each 100 grams of bread flour and all purpose flour, and 100~150 ml hot water. You can add salt if you want. You can use just all purpose flour, or experiment any kinds of flours as you wish. I like chewy texture, so I often use more bread flour. After mixing, dough should be very smooth, and wrap it and leave it for at least 30 minutes. Then, cut and roll out. I could make about 60 wrappers this time.

餃子の皮は、１００gの強力粉と小麦粉、１００〜１５０mlの熱湯を混ぜる。塩入れてもいい。小麦粉だけでもいいし、どんな種類の粉使ってもいいと思う。自分の好きなように作ってみよう。私はもちもち皮が好きなんで、強力粉多めに使う事もあり。皮の材料混ぜ終わったらラップして最低３０分は寝かせる。その後、切って伸ばす。今回は６０個ほどの皮できた。

Homemade pizza

I made sausage and vegetable pizza last night. For pizza dough, I just mixed 1 cup of flour and 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, salt, olive oil and about 1 cup warm water.  I  used homemade pesto sauce on the vegetable pizza. They turned out quite good and very crispy.

昨日はソーセージと野菜のピザ作った。ピザ生地は、適当に１カップの粉と１１／２カップの全粒粉と塩とオリーブオイルと約１カップのぬるま湯を混ぜただけ。野菜には手作りのペストソースをのせた。クリスピーでおいしくできた。

I baked buns for dinner tonight.

夜ご飯に使うパンを焼いた。

We had turkey sausage dog and salad tonight. I put dijon mustard, mayo, ketchup, and olive tapenade on my dog.
ターキーソーセージドッグとサラダを夜ご飯にした。私は、ディジョンマスタード、マヨネーズ、ケチャップ、オリーブタペナードをのせて食べた。

Fish cake tempura and lotus roots tempura / Sprouted brown rice

I bought this sprouted brown rice at Costco. I used to make sprouted brown rice by soaking rice in the water, but I want to try how this one tastes. According to the package, they use ancient Japanese traditions which means they soak rice like I do. Sprouted brown rice is sweeter, softer, and more nutritious. I like to cook rice in a pressure cooker. I cooked this rice, and it was very good. 

コスコで発芽玄米を買った。発芽玄米は玄米を水にひたして作ってたけど、ちょっとこの商品がどんな味か試してみよう。パッケージ案内には日本の伝統的な作り方でって書いてるけど、私がやってるのと同じで水にひたすだけ。発芽玄米の良いとこは、甘くて柔らかくて栄養もいっぱい。私は圧力鍋で米を炊きます。この発芽玄米を炊いてみたところ、おいしかった〜。

I made fish cake tempura and lotus roots tempura last night. To make fish cake tempura, I used cod and shrimp. Paste them in the food processor, and add potato starch, and salt, ginger. You can add anything you like. I made half fish cake mixed with dried anchovies. Shape the paste anyway you like and deep fry them.

昨日夜ご飯にてんぷらとれんこんの天ぷらを作った。てんぷらは、たらとエビを使った。フードプロセッサーでペースト状にして片栗粉、塩、しょうがを入れた。あるもの何入れてもいいし。半分はじゃこ入り。形作って、揚げるだけ。

For tempura batter, I mix approximately each 1 cup of all purpose flour and water, and little splash of rice vinegar about a teaspoon or so, and some ice cube. Do not over mix. It helps to flour lotus roots a bit before putting in the batter. Then deep fry

れんこんの天ぷら衣は、だいたい１カップずつ粉と水を混ぜて、酢をティースプーンぐらい少し入れて、氷を入れる。混ぜすぎないように。れんこんは衣に付ける前に粉はたくといい。揚げる。

All my bread photos look same.  I like to spread coconut oil and honey on my slice.

Both measuring cups and glass cups are stackable. I have already broken the smallest glass cup...

計量カップもガラスコップも重ねて収納できる。一番小さいガラスコップはもう割ってしまった。。。

I bought them at London drugs store just before Christmas. They are not real, so they were very affordable price.
クリスマス前にロンドンドラッグスで買った。本物じゃないからお手軽なお値段だった。

I made lemon mousse cake yesterday, and had a piece for breakfast this morning. It doesn't look very appealing the way I assembled, but the mousse was very lemony and tasty. The cake was ok. It's little too heavy for me.  If I make this again, I will bake my own sponge cake instead, and use it only one layer on the bottom. Recipe is from here.

昨日レモンムースケーキを作って、今朝の朝ご飯にした。見た目はいまいちやけど、ムースはすごくレモンが効いてておいしかった。ケーキは普通。ちょっと重い感じ。もし、また作るときは自分のスポンジ作って、底に１枚敷くだけにするなぁ。レシピは上の青い字へ。
