Gluten free baking and this summer

I have been baking gluten free bread and goodies lately.

This one is flax and sesame seed.

I baked two different cheesecakes; new york style and souffle.

２種類のチーズケーキを作った。ニューヨークスタイルとスフレ。

I took cheesecakes, muffins and biscotti to tea party.

お茶会にチーズケーキ、マフィン、ビスコッティを持って行った。

Today's harvest

I cooked orange skin to make candied orange peel. I didn't crystallized like I did last time.

オレンジの皮の砂糖漬けを作った。今回は前みたいに結晶化するのはやめた。

Vegetable dishes

I harvested those vegetables yesterday morning.

昨日朝に野菜を摘んできた。

I used them for dinner last night. I made stir fried komatsuna and beets green, daikon with cashew butter and miso, daikon leaves and dried anchovy, and beans and lentil salad. They were all tasty.

摘んだ野菜で夜ご飯。小松菜とビーツの葉っぱの炒め物、大根のカシューナッツバターと味噌和え、大根の葉っぱとじゃこ、それと豆のサラダを作った。全部おいしかった。

I made my friends birthday cards.

友達に誕生日カードを作った。

I stopped at community garden and picked up some vegetables.

I drove up to West and East Saanich to browse some farm markets.

車でウエストサーニッチとイーストサーニッチへ行ってファームマーケットに立ち寄った。

Local strawberries are finally here.

地元のイチゴが売り出された。

I bought some honey at Babe's honey farm.

It took me only three days and it's very bubbly.

I found red fife flour, so I baked bread.

レッドファイフっていう粉を見つけたからパンを焼いてみた。

Rye loaf

I made rye leaven by mixing dark rye flour, water, and grape.

ライ麦パン

ライ麦粉、水、ブドウを混ぜてライ麦酵母を作った。

Poor strawberry,,,,,,,, Deer ate them.  Deer ate lots of our vegetables in our garden box.

Some people always forget to close the gate at community garden even though there is a sign said "keep the gate closed".

かわいそうないちご、、、鹿が食べた。鹿が私らの野菜をたくさん食べていた。

コミュニティーガーデンの扉には「閉め忘れ注意」のサインがあるにもかかわらず、誰かがいつも開けっ放しにして行く。

ルバーブの先っぽ

I harvested some greens this morning. There is unknown vegetable grown nicely in the box. I forgot to put up the name when I sowed. I tasted it. It tasted like arugula, but doesn't look like much arugula to me. Well, we will eat it anyways tonight.

今朝は野菜を摘んだ。得体の知れない野菜が育ってる。種まきした時札を立てるの忘れたからだ。食べてみた。アルグラみたいな味がする、けど見た目がいまいち違うような。まぁ、いいか。今晩食べよう。
