Today's harvest

I cooked orange skin to make candied orange peel. I didn't crystallized like I did last time.

オレンジの皮の砂糖漬けを作った。今回は前みたいに結晶化するのはやめた。

Last day of school / Chocolate cake

Today was the last day of school before summer vacation. Kids baked chocolate chip cookies for their teachers as gift. 

今日は夏休み前の最後の授業。子供たちが先生に渡すチョコチップクッキーを焼いた。

My younger son requested me to make chocolate cake. He spread chocolate ganache cream over the cake.

次男のリスエストでチョコレートケーキを焼いた。チョコレートガナッシュクリームを次男がケーキにデコレーションした。

Tonight, we ate vegetable okonomiyaki ( cabbage cake ), marinated tofu steak, mizuna and tomato salad, and fried egg. 

今日の夜ご飯。野菜のお好み焼き、豆腐ステーキ、水菜とトマトのサラダ、目玉焼き。

Vegetable dishes

I harvested those vegetables yesterday morning.

昨日朝に野菜を摘んできた。

I used them for dinner last night. I made stir fried komatsuna and beets green, daikon with cashew butter and miso, daikon leaves and dried anchovy, and beans and lentil salad. They were all tasty.

摘んだ野菜で夜ご飯。小松菜とビーツの葉っぱの炒め物、大根のカシューナッツバターと味噌和え、大根の葉っぱとじゃこ、それと豆のサラダを作った。全部おいしかった。

Sooke

We stayed at brand new Prestige Hotel in Sooke.

スークに新しくできたプレスティージホテルへ泊まりに行った。

We had dinner at Stone Pipe Grill. My fish dish was beautiful and good.

ストーンパイプグリルで夜ご飯。私が食べた魚のメインディッシュはおいしかった。

We had breakfast at Mom's Cafe. It's been here for a long time. We went to Jordan River and other beach to collect rocks. We had a wonderful weekend.

朝ご飯はマムズカフェで食べた。このカフェ長いことあるみたい。ジョーダンリバーやあちこちビーチへ行って石拾いをした。いい週末だった。

Hemp and Chia seed bread / Souffle Cheese Cake

I used local Metchosin whole wheat flour. 

メチョーズンで作られてる全粒粉を使った。

My older son's favourite cheese cake. It's very airy light.

長男の大好きなチーズケーキ。とっても軽い食感。 

BD cards / Little visitors

I made my friends birthday cards.

友達に誕生日カードを作った。

小さなお客さんがうちの庭で食べ物を見つけたらしい。このりすさんは私らの緑色のイチゴを食べてる。 

Community garden / Farms in Saanich

I stopped at community garden and picked up some vegetables.

コミュニティーガーデンに寄って野菜を摘んで来た。

I drove up to West and East Saanich to browse some farm markets.

車でウエストサーニッチとイーストサーニッチへ行ってファームマーケットに立ち寄った。

Local strawberries are finally here.

地元のイチゴが売り出された。

I bought some honey at Babe's honey farm.

ベイブズハニーファームではちみつ買った。
