Shima Sushi

Meeting friends

I baked almond cookies last night to take to my friends.

友達に会うし昨日の夜アーモンドクッキーを焼いた。

One friend is visiting here from Taiwan with her husband to celebrate Chinese new year. I packed a small gift for her cute little niece.
友達の一人は台湾から旧正月を祝うのに来てて、彼女のかわいい姪っ子に小さいプレゼントを用意した。

Cork board

I bought a cork board at the dollar store, and decorated frame with paper tape and added butterflies.
ダラーストアで買ったコルクボードをマスキングテープと蝶でデコレーションした。

Hand massage

I went to a tea party at my friend's place. One of friends is learning hand massage, and she practiced on us.  It was very relaxing.

友達のところへお茶会に行って来た。友達の一人がハンドマッサージを習ってるから、みんなの手で練習をしてくれた。すっごく気持ちよかった。

Rice crackers and maple syrup dates muffins

I am going to make rice crackers. I have cut and dried mochi ( rice cake) I made a while ago.
おかき作り。ちょっと前に作ったお餅を切って乾燥させてた。

They are supposed be deep fried, but I baked them in the oven instead. They puffed up nicely.
普通は揚げて作るけど、オーブンで焼く事にした。きれいにふくらんだ。

mixed with salt and pepper. They are crunchy and good.
塩こしょうで味付け。　さくさくおいしくできた。

I baked muffins with maple syrup and dates for lunch.

お昼ご飯にメープルシロップとデーツのマフィンを焼いた。

Kids notebooks

I made notebooks for my sons, and used stamps that I carved from their drawings .

子供らの描いた絵で作ったはんこを捺してノートを作った。

I used craft papers as pages and colored parchment papers between the covers and pages.

主に画用紙を使って、見返し用にはパーチメント紙を使った。

Their initials are stamped on the back

背表紙に子供たちのイニシャルはんこ。

After they came home from school, they were very happy to see their new notebooks, and put some stickers on them.

子供たちは学校から帰って来て新しいノート見て喜んでくれた。早速シールをノートに貼ってた。

I used about 2 kg of raspberry, added organic cane sugar, and juice of lemon.
